Nursery Rhymes!

Hickory Dickory Dock...
Someone gave me a clock... (for the baby shower my work threw for me.)

Patty-cake, Patty-cake... Baker's man...
Bake me a cake as fast as you can.

All around the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the baby...
The monkey stopped to find out the smell... poop went the baby!
(Our diaper cake made for us for the shower)

Where is Thumkin? Where is Thumpkin?
Who cares? I know where Kennedi is and I know where her mama wants her to be soon!

What are little girls made of? What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice... but this one has stuffing in her!

Okay... no more corny rhymes.
Maybe more some other time.
Now I'll show you this video...
You can see it before you go.

Mister Geppetto??? Noah???

As you may have heard... we have had a crazy amount of rain in the past 24 hours. I think our approximate total rainfall was about 10 inches in that 24 hours. Here's some of the latest pictures of all of that rain. Here's the view last night from the front door... Mostly our front yard just gets a little soggy. Across the street behind those houses is a cow field... it was a cow lake yesterday.

We had more rain than we had drainage at our house. Our backyard slopes towards our front yard. The water was rushing that way (by way of my tomato plants... all that dirt left my backyard and is now in my front yard). Most of the water started to build up around the side of our house by our side garage door. Thanks to the previously mentioned dirt clogging up the drainage hole under the fence, the water was about to start flowing into the garage. I decided to take action. I started digging a trench from the side of the house towards the front hoping to let gravity drain the water for me. It was slow going, but nothing made it inside.

Of course I paused long enough to chase a toad from coming into the garage.

Here's a view of our front yard earlier that day.

Notice that we now have some grass. Here's a picture from before the grass started growing.

Here's a few video's of our crazy rain.

Fortunately we were not harmed in the making of those videos. Some of us did get wet. (Me and the toad.) Otherwise, the tomato plants are still growing, the birds are still chirping (and pooping)... and no major issues to report after this storm. In other news... anyone want to come help me build an ark just in case?
