We then got the concrete backerboards installed after the plumber came out to redo the pipes to replumb for our new fixtures.
Rather than build a shelf like we did on the last shower, we bought an inset to install and tile around.
This first weekend, we only tiled the ceiling of the shower. We also tiled the floor of the bathroom and got it grouted. We wanted to get the bathroom floor done so we could have the carpet installers tie up all the doorways when they came the following Wednesday.
So... now that all the other floors were done, we were ready for carpet. We had checked out a couple of places. We found a sample of carpet at Home Depot we liked that cost about $4 per sq ft. I saw a commercial for another carpet place in town that advertised free installation plus free furniture moving. When we looked at the place, they had almost the same type of carpet for only $10 per sq ft... umm no. Then we looked at another wholesale place in town that had great deals. We were initially thinking we'd just put new carpet in the living room, guest bedroom, and nursery. When we got to this last carpet place, they told us the type of carpet we liked, plus their best pad, with installation, and furniture moving would cost us about $2 per sq ft. Hired! We decided at that point to do all four bedrooms and the living room. The installers worked fast. They showed up at 7:15 and had most of the old carpet ripped out by 7:45.
The guys took the old carpet back to the store and picked up the new carpet. They returned at 8:15 and were done by 11. So if you live in the Yukon area and need carpet... Davis carpet is my recommendation.
So this past week was Spring Break for Kayla and her parents... I was stuck at work most days. Fortunately my talented father in law was able to work without me. He worked on installing our bathroom countertops, backsplashes, and new faucets. Of course it looks great.
So this weekend, my house project was to grout the shower we finished tiling last weekend.
That's all the house business. Now for the smaller and cuter business. Kennedi is alive and kicking. She's been kicking Kayla several times a day. I tried listening with my stethoscope last Sunday and saw one of the kicks. However, I don't get to feel too many. Every time Kayla says she is kicking, I put my hand on her stomach to feel for the kicks. When I do that, Kennedi stops. Hmmm... guess my hand will be the long hand of the law around the house. We have gotten some cute clothes recently. Some from Oklahoma, some from Florida, some from Florida by way of Virginia, some from Italy... Lots of fun stuff.
Sometimes I'm not sure what all this is, but I am trying it out to make sure it all works.
This past Friday, Kayla and I went to check out some Daycares... We had a list of places we wanted to go by and see. The list was narrowed down to two. It happened to be the only two that took infants and did not have a waiting list. Both are pretty similar. We'll post more on what we decide when we decide it. Okay this post has been long enough and you are more or less caught up on our craziness. Hope this game of ketchup was fun for you!
I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING!!!! You set this up perfectly...here I was oohing and ahhing over all the cute clothes...props to the best aunt...hee hee...and then I get down to you. LOL!!! Nice.
