While we were there, we decided to check to make sure we were still safe with the name Kennedi. We were told that this would be a common view for sisters and sister-in-laws as they changed diapers when they come to visit.
The ultrasound tech showed us her feet... She said she has really long toes, and the second toe was longer than the big toe. She was told it was a sign that Kennedi would be very smart. She never heard of the watertower toes label that Carolyn has always called my toes.
We got to see her ear... but so far she isn't wearing any dangily earrings. The majority of the time so far, Kennedi kept her face buried in the umbilical cord. I had read before that you could shine a flashlight on mom's tummy and the baby would probably move. I tried this once and Kennedi kicked or punched or something. Well, since she was being a little stubborn during the ultrasound, I threatened to shine a flashlight on her again if she didn't move. This was her reaction to this... Thank you for sticking your tongue out at me.
While we thought this whole 3D/4D thing was kind of cool... Kennedi seemed bored most of the time and slept through most of it. She did yawn a couple of times though.
While the yawn was cute... this little smile was really cute.
She also has long fingers to go with her long toes. All together I saw 12 fingers and 8 toes... if you count the "Watertower toes" as fingers. Kayla and I both said she could be a piano player with long fingers like this.
Just so you don't miss out on any of the sleeping though...
Another half a smile.
The other thing Kennedi did a lot during the ultrasound was hold on to the umbilical cord and lick it. I don't know what kind of flavor it was, but apparently she liked it.
She did get a bit camera shy during part of it... and stuck her hand and foot in front of her face.
I don't think she gets her flexibility from me... I can't touch my foot to my eye quite like she can.
During the whole time, our ultrasound tech kept saying how Kennedi had the most perfect and full lips. She said I was going to be in trouble. So I am now currently building a basement to lock her in... away from all the boys in the world!
Overall we liked the deal we got. We have a dvd of the whole thing as well as a cd with about 78 pictures on it... and a few printed out. We have a better idea of what our little girl will look like when she arrives.
I hope she doesn't resent you for all these pictures one day... especially the rear end one. That is not one to print out and show potential boyfriends!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures though (from a slightly prejudiced Grandma.)
Apparently you have the wrong idea... Why would I want to show those pictures to a boyfriend? This is why I'm building the basement to lock her in... to keep her from having boyfriends. I'm glad I could amuse you with the second post though.
